What do you love about weddings? At the Museums of Western Colorado, we love weddings because they blend timeless love stories with the unique beauty of our historic sites. At Cross Orchards Historic Site, couples can exchange vows under orchard trees, celebrate in the rustic barn, and dance beneath the stars. At the Museum of the West, history lovers can say “I do” surrounded by stories of the region’s past. And for couples who want something truly one-of-a-kind, Dinosaur Journey offers a playful, unforgettable backdrop among prehistoric giants. What we love most is helping couples create unforgettable memories in spaces that are as distinctive and meaningful as their own love story—becoming part of the living history of Western Colorado.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? The most rewarding part of our work at the Museums of Western Colorado is creating meaningful connections—whether it’s preserving and sharing the stories of our region, inspiring curiosity in visitors of all ages, or helping couples celebrate one of the most important days of their lives. We get to see history come alive, families and friends making lasting memories, and our community strengthened through experiences that matter. Knowing that the spaces we care for become the backdrop to people’s most treasured moments is what makes our work so fulfilling.
What is the most challenging part of your job? The most challenging part of our work at the Museums of Western Colorado is that there are simply endless stories to tell and discoveries to share. From uncovering new research to preserving historic collections to creating engaging exhibits and events, there’s always more history, science, and culture waiting to be explored. While it can feel like there’s never enough time in the day, it’s also what makes our work so exciting—the opportunities to keep learning, sharing, and connecting with our community never run out.
What do you want couples to know about you and your company? We want brides and grooms to know that the Museums of Western Colorado is more than just a venue—it’s a place where love stories become part of history.
