The Dirt

Venue: Monument View $1600
Dress: Serena Wedding dress designed by Maggie Sottero, purchased at Victoria Rose Bridal. $1500
Alterations: Hem House through Victoria Rose Bridal, $45. The dress fit practically perfect and needed very few alterations.
Flowers: Julie Powell, $632 for all flowers. She did an amazing job. I was looking for someone who did flowers out of their home and Sheryl Fisher (coordinator at Monument View) gave me Julie’s name. I told her my colors and let her decide on the flowers.
Veil: Ended up not having one, because of the hairstyle I chose.
Shoes: I am very tall so I just chose an ivory pair of flats with bow accents on the toes. My mom bought them for me in Las Vegas. $40
Nails: Gel French Tips $35- Nails 28 (LOVE THEM)
Hair and Makeup: Stephanie Booker at New York Moon has been doing my hair for 7 years. I love her. She did my up-do, and I did my own makeup. $55
Invites: Precision Printing did a custom design for me, and it was perfect! $110
Photography: Katie Landers (Engagement and Wedding photos; two photographers and no time limit) $1750. I love Katie’s natural style, and beautiful lighting.
DJ: Mr. DJ, for two DJ’s and two stations set up. $750
Rentals: Elite Events (Monument View takes care of all the details for the rentals and it is included in the total cost) $2170
Cake: Cake Cottage. I believe they have THE BEST cake in town, and it turned out beautifully!*They make you a small anniversary cake for your first year!
Catering: Berna B’s Cateringwe did a buffet to save on cost and we also did disposable dishes, but Berna B’s does such a beautiful set up that you still maintain every bit of elegance. $21.95/person.
Alcohol: $625 Total. We used Fisher’s Liquor Barn, they provided us a bar tender, and we just did beer and wine.
Tuxes: Men’s Warehouse, Husband $200 rental and Groomsmen $200 rental.
Bride’s Maids Dresses: David’s Bridal $99
Flower girl dress: $45 from Amazon. The mother of the groom added in colored tool to match the wedding colors.
Wedding Party Gifts: We did packets of Apple Cider with personalized stickers. They were $1.50 a piece.
Fun Extras: One of the extra touches that I was most excited about was my s’mores bar, and the bible I used as my guest list. I had everyone highlight their favorite verse and sign.
Nontraditional element: I didn’t do something old, something new, something borrowed, or something blue. I also had no seating charts for ceremony or reception.
How to de-stress your wedding planning: I didn’t worry about the little details; I left that up to the professionals. There is a reason why they do what they do, and I was extremely pleased with all of my vendors. Also, having a coordinator on the day of your wedding is priceless. My venue had a “day of coordination” package for $655 and it was well worth it. My family didn’t have to work at all.
Best part of wedding planning: The things that I got to choose with my groom, was my favorite part. I’ll never forget picking out our venue and cake together.
I’ll always remember: I didn’t want us to see each other before the wedding. I will never forget walking down the aisle, and him seeing me for the first time. We exchanged gifts the night before the wedding just before we said goodbye for the night, and it was a very emotional and intimate moment. It was a perfect, especially after hardly seeing each other the week before the wedding.
Service that must be done by a pro: Photography and Catering. You don’t want your family and friends to have to work the whole time.
Honeymoon: Booked through Yvonna at First Class Travel. We are going to Riviera Maya about a month after the wedding. We didn’t want to have to rush.$4200
Wedding theme: Rustic, Romantic elegance.
Advice from the bride: We had a 10 month engagement, and it allowed us to save money, and also not feel so rushed.
Contributions by family: $11,000
Total actual cost to bride and groom: $5000 plus the honeymoon. We were able to do everything with cash, because we had a long engagement
