We love a good wedding, I mean who doesn’t? But there is something to be said about an elopement that is done right that gives us all the feels. Julie and Clay’s Real Colorado Elopement took place on a dock at the gorgeous Haviland Lake right next to the San Juan Mountains. They couldn’t have asked for a better September day in Colorado for their photos.
What we love about this elopement
The picnic on the dock – This was so romantic it makes me want to plan a date like this as well! Overlooking the serene lake water and the reflection of the trees and clouds made this the perfect spot to be photographed.
The details – it’s almost a shame that Julie and Clay didn’t have a full wedding because we know Julie would have knocked it out of the park with these details! The special drinks, the glasses, the blankets, and lace were all perfect.
The love – Eloping takes much of the stress away from a couple when they aren’t planning a big wedding. Worrying about guest lists, budgets, etc. can be overwhelming. Julie and Clay’s elopement was so little stress that you could see their joy and happiness in every picture.

Julie & Clay’s elopement was beyond incredible. The amount of thought Julie put into the details made it a dream to photograph! It was all DIY and a chipmunk even joined for the picnic!
