Company: Colorado Wine Country Inn
Name: Victoria Surroz
When did you start your business? 2005
How did you start your business? The Tally family’s love of Colorado and Wine lead them to Palisade, Colorado, the heart of Colorado wine country. Once here, they realized their dream of opening a boutique style wine themed hotel.
What do you love about weddings? My favorite part of weddings is when the pomp and circumstance is over and done with and the couple can relax and have fun with their family and friends. All of the planning and stress is over and they can just be in love and dance.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? The most rewarding part of my job is the hugs at the end of the night from the happy couple and their families. Pulling off a wedding without a noticeable hitch, is often times stressful and challenging and to know at the end of everything that it was noticed and appreciated is an amazing feeling.
What is the most challenging part of your job? The lack of confident communication is the most challenging part of my job. Couples often come into the planning process not knowing anything of what they want and that indecision can trickle all the way through to the very end, making it difficult to throw a dream wedding without hitting more snags then necessary.
What do you want brides/grooms to know about you/your company? You can trust that we know what we’re doing. With over 100+ weddings under our belts and countless dinners, meetings, and functions we have seen it all and know how to roll with whatever punches are thrown our way.
What are some tips that you have for a newly engaged bride? Breathe, relax, and get everything out of the way as early as you can so that there is no last minute rushing stressing you out before the big day.
Trust your planner. We have been through so many events and weddings that we can often times foresee problems and can derail them before they become issues.
