Company: Heart Centered Weddings
Name: Carolyn Ringo
When did you start your business? I began officiating weddings in 1993 after designing my own unique wedding in 1993.
How did you start your business? I founded a spiritual community in Durango, CO in 1993 and began getting requests for weddings. After moving back to Northern California, I officiated many weddings there, and then back in Colorado I found that I missed being a part of such joyous occasions!
What do you love about weddings? That they are all about love and, for the most part, everyone is happy!
What is the most rewarding part of your job? The honor of being part of something so significant in the lives of people, and having so many people come up to me afterward and say, “That was the most beautiful ceremony I have ever heard.” I also love getting to marry people in such amazingly beautiful places. Last year I did one in a hot air balloon!
What is the most challenging part of your job? Sometimes it is just the challenge of getting the bride and groom to choose or write their vows and getting them to me before the wedding! Mostly it is the marketing though; how to let engaged couples know of my services.
What do you want brides/grooms to know about you/your company? That I will listen to what they want; I will honor their wishes; I will always be prepared, early, and helpful if possible. It is about who you are as individuals and as a couple and I will never make it about my personal beliefs. Also, that I can go any direction – formal to completely informal; inter-faith; LGBTQ; I can help you write vows, plan the ceremony and direct the rehearsal. I will put together all the pieces and hold the space for you to relax and be present for your marriage ceremony, which is serious but certainly does not need to be solemn!
What are some tips that you have for a newly engaged bride? The best place to find those is in a blog I wrote a while back: http://heart-centered-weddings.com/tips-for-a-successful-wedding-ceremony/
