Company: Spieler Media Productions
Name: Aaron and Allyson Spieler
When did you start your business? 2021
How did you start your business? We were nomadic and traveled the world for 2 years making YouTube videos. We decided to settle down in Grand Junction in 2021 and make our media production company official!
What do you love about weddings? We are storytellers. In real life and through a lens. The best part is sharing each couple’s story by making them cry, laugh and smile.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? Honestly, it’s being there for the Bride and Groom on their wedding day. At first, they are usually uncomfortable being on camera but we love showing them it’s okay to be a little awkward. It’s the best when you really start to see them loosen up as the day goes on. Allyson hangs out with the Bride/bridesmaids and Aaron hangs out with the Groom/groomsmen.
What is the most challenging part of your job? The most challenging is the same as what we love about weddings. It’s not easy to do a couple’s love story justice. It is relatively easy to capture every moment on the wedding day, but the real magic happens in the editing room. It’s challenging but so rewarding once the film is finished.
What do you want couples to know about you/your company? We are a husband and wife team, military veterans, travel enthusiasts, and we love telling stories through film. We do everything together and we each have our own strengths. Aaron is the one who knows how to capture the perfect shot, and Allyson is the one who edits everything together to tell a story.
What are some tips that you have for a newly engaged bride? Breathe. It will all work out the way it’s supposed to. On our wedding day, it rained, our grandmother fell and broke her hip (she’s ok now), we lost the keys to the U-Haul that held our ceremony chairs, and the maid of honor had food poisoning. We just took a deep breath. We look back on our wedding day and think about the amazing memories, not the bad ones. So, just remember to breathe.
