How did you start your business? I would almost indicate I started it by accident. I’ve been playing and making music for a long time, however I was given the opportunity by two friends who knew I played guitar for fun to play music for their events, The first event was for a mortgage company and the other a non profit fundraising event. After that I started pursuing more events which evolved in providing music for all sorts of events, often at wineries and breweries, holiday parties, graduations, and once weddings starting to get on the radar I realized, I loved playing music for someone’s big day and being a part of these memories.
What do you love about weddings? I love a wedding atmosphere. The venues are beautiful, guests are dressed up, the food is incredible. Following a music passion and getting to make music for a couples big day even with all the chaos that often goes on really provides joy for me.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? The most rewarding part is difficult to pinpoint, but I would say when people forget whatever the next thing they want to accomplish and keep moving during the event and allow themselves to dance.
What is the most challenging part of your job? Lugging my guitar amp around. The real challenge is probably the flip of the most rewarding. I continue to play and enjoy myself making music, even when guests are filling up their plates from the catering, and they are discussing things with the venue owners, my job is to keep playing when their focus is elsewhere.
What do you want brides/grooms to know about you/your company? Live music adds a unique element to weddings that not everyone else has. It’s your day and I feel honored to be a part of it.
What are some tips that you have for a newly engaged bride or groom? I myself am recently married and I wish I had worn better insoles in my shoes, because I ran around quite a bit and had sore feet at the end of it. Plan extra snacks before the big meal for when you’re getting ready, and of course remember to try and drink it all in, it will go by very quickly!
